I know what it’s like to have a mind that won’t slow down. I can spend so much time overthinking every decision, conversation, or future possibility that I lose sight of the peace God wants for me. I have learned that when I bring my racing thoughts to Him in prayer, He gently reminds me that I don’t have to have everything figured out. If you’re struggling with overthinking today, I hope this prayer helps you release your worries and rest in His faithful care. Before I pray, I like to remind myself of what God says about anxious and racing thoughts. If you’re looking for Scripture to meditate on, take a moment to read my 10 Bible Verses for Overthinking before praying.

Heavenly Father,
Sometimes my mind won’t slow down. I replay conversations, worry about things that haven’t happened, and spend so much time thinking about every possible outcome that I forget to simply rest in Your presence. I know that overthinking steals my peace, and today I choose to bring my restless thoughts to You.
Help me recognize when my mind is wandering into fear instead of faith. Teach me to pause, breathe, and remember that You are already working in the situations I cannot figure out. Instead of searching for every answer, remind me that I can trust the one who already knows the beginning and the end.
When anxious thoughts try to take over, fill my mind with Your truth. Replace confusion with clarity, fear with peace, and worry with confidence. Help me focus on what is true, good, and pleasing to You rather than the endless “what ifs” that leave me feeling exhausted and overwhelmed.
Thank You for being patient with me and for never growing tired of hearing my prayers. I release my racing thoughts into Your hands and choose to trust You one moment at a time. Let Your peace guard my heart and mind today and every day.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Many Blessings,
Lisa
